Static Purpose Statement
At Static we reach and teach students to become Disciples for Jesus Christ by exposing them to God’s word, offering ourselves in service to Christ, learning to care for each other, and praising Jesus today, tomorrow and forever.
STATIC at Chapel Hill - All meetings held in STATIC HALL unless otherwise notified.
STATIC includes all young persons in grades 6 through 12
Sunday meeting times: 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm 6th through 12th Grade
Wednesday meeting times: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm 6th through 12th Grade
February 5 Youth only event Super Bowl Party in STATIC Hall.We will have food, drinks, and games. Cost for this event is $2 per person.
February 12 Church-wide DISCO Dance in STATIC Hall. Everyone is invited to come out and bust a move with us!Dress the part, get out those awesome outfits! We will dance the night away from 5:30-7:00PM. Snacks and drinks will be offered.Cost is $2.00 per person.
February 19 Church-wide Bowling Night at Echo Lanes here in town at our local lanes. (The bowling alley is located across from North High School.)Meet us there from 5:30-7:00 PM. Please don‘t arrive early, they have leagues going on. Cost of $2 covers your shoe rental, snacks, and first 2 games. Any additional games are $2 each.
February 26 Church-wideSwimming Party at the YMCA. Arrive at the YMCA for swimming from 5:30-7:00PM.Only swimming suits please, they have a policy against t-shirts, shorts, etc. Dress modestly, you know what that means! Cost is $2 and includes dinner, Subway.We also have access to the recreation room, so even if you don‘t swim, come out for some fun and fellowship!Wednesday NightsThe Experiment in STATIC Hall. Upon our return from WinterBlitz, we will launch a 4-week study on ―How to get along with your family.‖ We encourage students to be present for all 4 sessions. We begin with a meal from 5:30-6:00PM, cost is $4.00. Then we have a worship service, followed by small groups. After these lessons finish, we will be participating in the Church Wide NOT A FAN study. See you there!
Small Groups on the MOVE
Are you a part of a small group? Then you know how awesome it is to form a bond with people who are seeking a deeper relationship with Christ. The high school and middle school students have recently gone to a small group format. We are seeking additional adults who would help lead or support all boy or all girl groups. They range in age from 6th grade on up. Students are so excited about the small groups that they stop me in the halls at school and say, “I can’t wait until small group!” They protest now when they think we might have to do something different instead. The groups have already started planning activities to do to become even closer.
If you are looking for something to help your walk grow deeper, come join in this summer. We will begin 2 more new groups as soon as 5th graders move up at the first of June. That will be a total of 7 small groups in all! WOW!
The Experiment
Need a mid-week pick me up? Our mid-week service is up and going and it ROCKS! We start with dinner at 5:30 pm and finish up with the service by 7:00 pm. You don’t have to be in the youth to attend or to eat. It is a blended service with singing, message, offering, and other traditional elements.
We would like to officially invite everyone, including small groups, to come and eat dinner with us beforehand. It is $4 for a main dish, side, drink, and dessert. So far we have enjoyed Chick-Fil-A, Sonic, and chicken strips. Check with Abbi or Rob for more details.
